When I play Call of Duty, I play to complete challenges. I’m not one of those players to whom winning is everything and if they don’t get a positive KD after ten seconds they’ll rage quit the game. I mean, I won’t intentionally try to lose. I make an effort to win, and in fact my win-loss ratio is above 1 in Black Ops 3. But while I’m trying to win, I’m trying to complete all the different challenges.
I’ve been playing COD since Modern Warfare (with the exception of World at War) but I can’t remember which game I made the switch to focusing more on challenges. I think it was a gradual thing, but it’s definitely been since at least the first Black Ops. It has led to some interesting play styles and has made me quite a versatile player, since I’m constantly switching between weapons and attachments and perks and equipment et cetera. But probably the most amazing thing I’ve ever managed in my hunt for a challenge was in Advanced Warfare, where I was hunting for the Goliath challenge and needed about six kills when BAM!, I got a 21 killstreak. You can watch it here.
If you’ve ever used the Goliath in multiplayer, you’ll know it’s not the best scorestreak. It’s slow, it’s inaccurate at any kind of range and all it takes is someone with an LMG and some good cover and you’re a goner. While hunting for the challenge I’d say I managed about 4 or 5 kills on average, with some decent runs of 6-8 and quite a few of 2 or less. So I was hoping when I called this one in that I’d manage the last kills and that would be it.
As you’ll see in the video, I got incredibly lucky. Right after I called in the Goliath, I got killed. Luckily, I’d also called in a care package. I always run trap on my care packages, so when my killer goes for it first, BOOM!, he dead. I got lucky with my respawn too, and the rest, well, I guess all that’s left is to watch the video and see the epicness firsthand.
